Photo frame made from salt dough Lightning McQueen
In order to make a frame from salt dough, we will deviate from traditional manufacturing and for greater granularity we will use not fine salt, but rock salt.
We'll make the dough ourselves. For this we need:
1 cup flour,
1 glass of salt,
1 tablespoon sunflower oil (for elasticity)
0.5 cup - water.
After kneading, let stand for about an hour.
Prepare the baking sheet - wash it and wipe it dry
Let's get creative
1. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin, bringing it to a thickness of 0.5 -0.8 cm. We try to ensure that the thickness is the same throughout the entire cake. It is advisable to then place it immediately on a baking sheet and then work on it so as not to deform the frame while moving it.
2. Fold the A4 sheet in half, place it on the dough and carefully cut off everything that protrudes - this way we get an even blank for the frame.
3. Fold the sheet again and cut out the middle of the frame (window under the photo).
Decor
1. We make two rectangles - one larger is the base of the machine, the second smaller is the cabin, lay one on top of the other, and coat the joint with water.
2. We make circles in the form of wheels, flatten them, and apply them to the base. We carefully sculpt all this sideways to the bottom of the frame (also using water)
3. Make a cloud (you can make several) and glue it to the top of the frame
4. We sculpt a tree (first the trunk, then the crown).
Bake
We place our masterpiece in the oven, initially preheated to 150 degrees. Let it dry. It is advisable not to open the oven door during drying, which takes approximately 20 minutes, to avoid swelling on our product.
Coloring
To paint salt dough, you can use not only acrylic, but also gouache and watercolor; in this case, it was painted with watercolors.
Try to make shades, this will give your frame even more charm.
