How I get rid of stubborn grease on my kitchen hood in 5 minutes
One of the problems when cleaning the kitchen is traces of oil. Some surfaces are covered with a dense layer of fat. And it is impossible to clean such dirt with water. But there is a way to effortlessly clean a stove, hood or table from traces of oil in just a couple of minutes.
What will you need?
Below we will present the most budget-friendly way to get rid of traces of fat. Therefore, there is no need to buy expensive cleaning products. Required:
- Hot water. You can use hot tap water, but it is better to boil some water first.
- Caustic soda. It is also called caustic soda or sodium hydroxide. This is a powder with large granules or flakes. It is sold in hardware stores by the kilogram. And it's very cheap.
- Sprinkler. The spray nozzle will help to evenly distribute the substance over the surface.
- The abrasive side of the sponge. Regular dish sponges have a soft side and a hard side. To combat traces of fat, you need the tough side. You can immediately buy a full-fledged abrasive sponge.
Gloves.Since you will have to work with caustic soda, it is better to protect yourself with rubber gloves.
All of these products can be purchased at a hardware store.
Cleaning instructions
The entire cleaning process will only take a few minutes. First you need to prepare. To do this you need to make a cleaning mixture. Caustic soda is mixed with hot water.
This must be done directly in the bottle.
First, you should throw in 80-100 grams of powder, and then pour 0.5 liters of hot water and stir.
The finished mixture must be distributed over the contaminated surface.
The spray is ideal in this situation. It will help you quickly and evenly pour the cleaning agent into everything.
You need to pour over not only horizontal surfaces, but also all areas where there are traces of fat. Particular attention should be paid to instrument panels with buttons or turn signals.
Even before the product is distributed over the entire area of the stove, you will notice how the fat begins to “float”. But you need to leave the liquid for 2-5 minutes for greater effect.
Residues of grease and cleaning agent can be easily removed with a sponge.
After which you should rinse the now clean surface with plain water and wipe dry.
This method is suitable for any surface (glass, metal, wood). The cleaning product is suitable even for dishes other than aluminum and Teflon-coated ones. The method of removing traces of fat is very cheap and, despite the use of caustic soda, quite safe. It can be used in a home with small children and animals. The main thing is to follow the rules for storing caustic soda.
