4 ways to open the washing machine door if it is jammed

It happens that after the end of the washing cycle, the washing machine door does not open. The case is quite common and is divided into two main failures: the door arm has broken, or the electromagnetic lock has failed. Below are four ways to open the door. The first three should be used when the handle breaks, and the last fourth, when the lock itself breaks.
In most cases, the door handle breaks; when pressed, the lock hook moves to the side and the door opens.

You can feel this when pressing: the force will be minimal, or the handle will completely fall inward. But each model may have its own indications. Therefore, be sure to go through the first 3 methods before moving on to the last one.

Mandatory preliminary actions

Before you try anything, be sure to do the following:

• Turn off the power to the machine by unplugging the power cord from the outlet.
