Matryoshka for teapot
The matryoshka doll has long been the hallmark of Russia. “Russian beauties,” as our guests from far abroad call them, delight the eye in any design: painted in wood, in clay and ceramics, and in colorful patchwork pieces made using the patchwork technique. This matryoshka is very multifunctional. You can put it on the refrigerator or hang it on the wall in the kitchen, serve hot tea, and decorate the table.
It is very easy to sew such a matryoshka doll. In every home there are scraps of various fabrics. It is advisable to choose bright, printed ones with a pattern of small flowers, checks, polka dots or diagonal stripes.
For sewing we will need: multi-colored pieces of fabric, 2 meters of braid, 1 meter of lace, scissors, needle and thread, sewing machine, felt-tip pens and PVA glue.
The shape and size of the nesting dolls are arbitrary. They are determined by the purpose of the product. For a samovar it is a large nesting doll, and for a teapot it is a small doll sitting beautifully on the teapot.
The elements of the product are clearly visible in the photo. First, we cut out the “body” of the nesting doll from the main fabric (two parts). Between these layers place a layer of batting of the same shape.
Now let's imitate a handkerchief.Russian motifs look very impressive on a scarf. Cells, peas and flowers are best used for the base. Having cut out the details of the scarf and sewed strips of braid and lace to your liking, we put all the parts together and sew them on a sewing machine along the contour of the front side. We attach the braid to the front side of the seam, cover the seam with braid and hem it by hand on the wrong side.
We cut out the face in the form of a circle from pink fabric, the hair from brown. We draw the eyes, nose and lips with a felt-tip pen and glue a circle in place of the matryoshka’s face.
Having drawn a cute face, the nesting doll will always create a good mood for you and your guests.
