How to remove scratches and abrasions on a car without special tools
The situation can truly be called classic: you go to the parking lot in the morning to pick up your car. Approach the car and see scuffs on the bumper. Of course, the guilty can no longer be found; few people have the courage to admit their mistakes and take responsibility, but that’s not the point now.
Now the point is that you will have to do something about these scuffs and scratches on the bumper. If the damage is not large, then everything can be fixed on your own, without even resorting to contacting a service center and buying expensive polishes, not to mention painting.
Will need
- Toothpaste, in our case Colgate.
- Sponge for washing dishes with two sides of hardness.
All.
How to remove shallow scratches yourself using household products
Most toothpastes contain a fine substance that perfectly polishes the surface. Be it metal, plastic, or even a painted surface, as in our case.
Take it and squeeze the paste onto the abrasions. Here you don’t have to spare consumables.
We take a sponge and with the rough side, by hand, begin to polish and smooth out all the defects.
It will take about 10-15 minutes.Next, rinse everything off with plenty of water and rejoice.
Of course, it’s not worth a miracle: deep scratches will not disappear, since the base of the bumper can be seen from under them.
But compared to what happened, the result is excellent.
In any case, this is better than removing the bumper and painting it... Although it all depends on the type of specific defects.
