How to make a soldering torch from a regular lighter
For burning wood or fine soldering, you can use a miniature gas torch. Despite its small size, it produces a very high temperature. Of course, you can buy such a burner, but if you have a couple of broken lighters, then nothing can stop you from making it yourself.
Materials:
- Motorcycle spoke;
- broken turbo lighters;
- telescopic antenna;
- bamboo skewer;
- glue.
Burner manufacturing process
First of all, we disassemble the turbo lighter and take out its burner.
We unscrew the gas injector from it.
Then we take the telescopic antenna. It will require a tube that has a diameter suitable for connecting to the nozzle.
The selected tube must be filed to bend at a right angle.
Then we bend it and solder it at the bend. After this, insert the nozzle and seal it tightly.
Now we take a flask with gas from the lighter, and insert a piece of a motorcycle spoke into the blind hole of its plug with the threaded side. We glue it in for reliability.
A gas opening lever is installed on the flask valve. Then two short pieces are cut from a bamboo skewer and glued to the flask.They will serve as part of the support for the gas supply lever.
Next, you need to install the turbo burner back on the soldered nozzle. Everything is assembled as it was, with all the rubber bands, mesh and washers.
Then we take another piece of bamboo skewer and place it on the previously glued stops. As a result, we must spring the gas lever. Then we screw a nut onto the spoke, which will serve as the upper limiter of the lever.
A short hose is pulled onto the tube with the burner.
Its other end is connected to the valve on the flask. After this, you need to solder the tube to the knitting needle.
Now, when you press the lever, gas will be supplied to the burner. All that remains is to set it on fire. The final adjustment of the flame force is made by screwing the nut onto the thread of the spoke.
