How to make a fog machine from a hair dryer
You can put on a real show at home or just “let in the fog” using a homemade fog machine. 01 The heart of the device is an electric hair dryer. The cheapest model will do, for 350-400 rubles. Even if you have an old “grandmother’s” hairdryer lying around somewhere, you can also use it; the basic design of all hairdryers is the same.
There is a hairdryer in almost every home, and a smoke machine is a unique gadget! It looks unconventional, works flawlessly, is miniature and mobile. You can take it with you to a party with friends. If they sing karaoke there, the smoke machine will be the most popular device.
The cost of a smoke machine is only 500 rubles, and getting one present everyone will be pleased.
To work you will need:
The list is very detailed, but if all the items are on the desktop, it will take 15-20 minutes to assemble the smoke machine.
The pipe is shown in italics in the list. An ordinary plastic pipe cannot be used for a smoke machine, because heating the spiral in the working area will very quickly cause thermal destruction of the material. A pipe made of heat-resistant polymers or fiberglass is acceptable.
We saw off 22 cm of pipe.
We measure and mark a segment equal to half the circumference of the pipe. From the edge to the cutting line leave min. 10 mm.
We cut out the segment using a cutting cutter on a burr machine. Now it's already a lid.
IMPORTANT: Trim the corners very slowly so as not to catch too much.
Let's disassemble the hair dryer. Usually the sides of the case are fixed with 2-3 screws.
10 Carefully remove the working module and control unit.
Carefully insert cotton swabs under the spiral from all sides of the cross. Apply hot glue to the bushing. We install the modified module into the pipe.
To center it, the crosspiece is fixed with a wire.
We put the lid on and mark the places for the tubes and wires. Remove the cover and drill holes.
We assemble such a tee from tubes.
We insert the tubes into the seats of the lid so that they are immersed in the cotton wool. We carefully place the lid in its place and secure it with tape.
Take 15-20 glycerin cubes.
Insert the syringe into the tee and saturate the cotton wool with glycerin.
Place the plastic diffuser/adapter on.
The body is assembled approximately in this sequence.

- A syringe with IV tubes;
- Screwdriver;
- Hacksaw for metal;
- Drill + drill according to the diameter of the dropper tube;
- Boring machine with cutting cutter;
- Plastic diffuser;
- Corrugated cardboard;
- Pipe with a diameter of 75 mm, a segment of at least 25 cm;
- Glycerin 50-100 ml;
- Paper, ruler, scissors, 20 cm of thin wire, marker, cotton swabs, electrical tape/adhesive tape.
