How to convert a motorcycle into an electric bike with a speed of 80 km/h
Motorcycles are many times more economical than cars, but refueling them with gasoline is not cheap. Reduce the cost of traveling on them, possibly replacing the internal combustion engine with an electric motor. This is an ideal solution for those who have their own garage, where they can recharge the battery without removing it from the bike.
The first step is to dismantle the engine along with the gearbox.
A powerful steel plate is attached to the freed frame, onto which the electric motors will be mounted.
Ideally, do not weld it, but design a removable mount, so that if necessary, you can return the original gasoline engine, for example, if you sell the motorcycle.
Electric motors are screwed to the stove. The holes for their installation must be pre-bored in order to be able to move the units, thereby tensioning the chain. Next you need to combine the engines. To do this, a sprocket is installed on their shafts on the opposite side relative to the wheel star. A powerful roller chain is pulled between them.
Next, you need to install the sprocket on the motor shaft located closer to the wheel. A chain from the driven sprocket of the rear wheel is thrown onto it. Thus, motors connected by a common circuit will be able to rotate the wheel together.
Having dealt with the power units, you need to install the controllers and battery. Since the motors are powerful, each of them requires a separate controller. To secure them you will have to weld the frame.
Then you need to connect the wiring according to the diagram of the existing controllers. Each of them is connected to its own motor. At the same time, they are powered from a common battery and controlled by one throttle handle. It is important to make all connections through terminal blocks, and not use twisting, since it will not withstand such high currents.
Then the electric throttle is installed instead of the standard one. The sidewalls and tank are returned to the motorcycle. The gas tank is needed only for aesthetics and protection from precipitation.
The motors used in this case are powerful enough to move away with a passenger. They can even slow down. Their only drawback is their high energy consumption, so you will need to assemble a capacious battery so as not to be recharged daily and have a sufficient power reserve.
