How to make a stopper for any container

If you need to make a stopper for a jar or bottle of an unusual and rare shape, then there is nothing easier. Absolutely anyone can cope with this task.
Using simple technology, you can make a sealed stopper, plug or lid with your own hands.

Will need

• Silicone.
  
• Corn or potato starch.
  
• Liquid food coloring.
  
• Petrolatum.

Making a stopper for a bottle with your own hands

Take a plastic or paper plate. Add a drop of dye.

Squeeze out the required amount of silicone from the tube and mix with the dye.

To make a stopper for a bottle, take an object of similar shape.

Lubricate the inner surface with Vaseline and lay out the composition.

Using a finger coated with Vaseline, smooth the mixture evenly.

After the silicone dries, remove the plug with a sharp object.


Use a sharp blade to trim the edges and the cork is ready.

We take a container that is slightly larger in diameter than the neck of the jar. Lubricate the surface with Vaseline and fill it with silicone with or without dye. We level it with a finger greased with Vaseline.

Leave to dry.

Once dry, remove the form.

Making a cork for a bottle with a narrow neck

Pour 3 tablespoons of starch into a plate. It will serve as a filler and make the composition much harder after drying.

In another cup, mix silicone with dye.

Well, then we roll the mixed mixture in starch as when making baked goods from dough.

Now the silicone will not stick to your hands and will look like plasticine. We put a lump on the bottle and smooth out the future cork.

After hardening it can be opened.
