How to make a simple bearing puller in 5 minutes
In the absence of a specialized puller, when dismantling bearings you have to use every possible trick. Sometimes knee-jerk work ends in the destruction of the bearing or deformation of the shaft from which it is knocked off.
To avoid such risks, it is worth building a simple device with which the bearings can be removed quickly and accurately.
Materials:
- small channel;
- bolt M8-M10;
- nut M8-M10.
Manufacturing process of a simplified puller
On a piece of small channel you need to drill 2 holes opposite each other with an 8-10 mm drill.
You need to crash into one of them to get an open window.
The width of the cut should be sufficient to insert the shaft with the bearing.
Then a bolt sharpened to a cone is inserted into the hole opposite, and a nut is screwed onto it.
Thus, by holding the nut with a wrench and screwing in the bolt, you can press the shaft out of the bearing. It takes literally 10 minutes to make such a simplified puller, so it makes sense to make it, even if you only need to press out one bearing.
