A simple antenna for digital TV with your own hands based on a splitter

If the TV tower is located close to you, to watch TV programs, it is enough to connect a passive antenna to the TV. It is so simple and cheap to make that there is no point in buying it.

Materials:

coaxial cable type RG-6;
F-connector for cable – 3 pcs.;
TV plug;
antenna splitter for 2 outputs.

The manufacturing process of a passive antenna for digital TV

A piece 50 cm long is cut from the coaxial cable. At one end, the outer insulation is cut off 10-15 mm from the edge, but so as not to break the inner braid. The latter must be wrapped towards the second edge, then the remaining layer of insulation must be removed to expose the central core. An F-connector is installed on the prepared edge.

In the center of the cable, you need to remove the outer insulation to a width of 20 mm. The braid is cut off on the exposed area. This area will then need to be insulated to prevent further fracture of the cable when bent.

The second end of the wire is also stripped beyond 10-15 mm of the edge.Its braid turns out and the core is exposed. Next, you need to tuck the core towards the braid to close them together. A second F-connector is then installed on this edge.
The end of the cable with the protruding central core is twisted into a separate input of the splitter. Its second closed edge is screwed onto one of the two outputs.

A long cable is connected to the third output on the splitter, which goes to the TV.

Before this, the F-connector and plug are installed on the wire. If the antenna does not work, you will need to swap the shorted end of the looped cable with the wire going to the TV. After this, the picture on the screen will be clear and contrasty.
