How to clean and restore car spark plugs. Advice from an experienced driver
Over time, car spark plugs become overgrown with carbon deposits; as a result, they need to be changed after a certain period of time. But there is no need to throw away candles. You can clean it of carbon deposits and put it back into service, thereby saving a considerable amount.
An incredibly simple and absolutely accessible way to clean spark plugs was shown on his channel by Viktor Bazarev, who has worked as a driver since the 70s. This method does not require scarce funds and is still in excellent use today.
We take a glass container, in this case a faceted glass. We put candles in it and fill it with acetic acid.
We remove the unlock for 30-60 minutes. Then add 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda to start the reaction.
We will also leave it to unlock for another 15-30 minutes.
Next, the candles are washed with water and cleaned with a brush, and all carbon deposits come off well.
Next is the final stage: calcination. If you have a gas burner, heat each candle until it turns red. If not, a gas stove will also work.
After this, you need to check the gap between the electrodes. If you don't have a feeler gauge, use a hacksaw blade. Its thickness corresponds exactly to the required gap.
If you are still afraid to use remanufactured spark plugs, then wrap them in a waterproof bag and carry them with you as a spare tire.
