Decorative candles
The use of candles can not only decorate a boring and dull interior, but also create a special, unique mood. At the same time, candles never overload the interior; it is not for nothing that they are the main decorative item in the minimalist style. If you are arranging a room in this particular style, stock up on as many different candles as possible - thick and thin, rectangular and round, white and multi-colored, with various decorations. You can also make your own candles. In this case, your interior will be even more original and unique.
To create a decorative candle, we will need: a mold for the future candle, a thread pre-impregnated with wax, a lemon slice, an orange peel, small scissors, a paraffin candle, a vessel in which the paraffin will be heated, a saucepan with water for a steam bath.
1. Use a needle or sharp scissors to make a small hole in the bottom of the mold and thread a thread pre-impregnated with wax into it. Please note that the bottom of the form will be the top of the future candle. We tie the end of the thread into a knot on the outside.
2. We fix the second end of the thread in scissors, and place the scissors themselves on top of the form so that the thread is taut.
3. Grease the inside of the mold with sunflower oil. We do this so that the candle easily leaves the mold.
4. Place lemon slices and orange peel into the mold.
5. Melt the wax in a water bath and pour it into the mold. You need to melt the candle in a metal or ceramic container; do not use glass containers, as they may burst when heated.
6. Place the mold in a cool place, maybe in the refrigerator, but not in the freezer, otherwise your candle will turn out cloudy and ugly.
7. Making a second candle. It will be wider, so we take a larger shape. We carry out the same procedure as with the first candle. We make a hole and stretch the thread. Melt the wax and pour it into the mold. Now take the pasta and throw it into the wax before it thickens. Pasta, on the one hand, will create a beautiful relief, and on the other hand, it will form pimples on the surface thanks to the air that is in them.
8. We also put the form in a cold place.
9. When the wax has hardened, remove the candle. If it doesn't come off on its own, there's no need to pick it out. Simply hold the mold over the fire or over the same steam bath, the wax near the walls will melt, and the candle will easily come out of the mold.
Our candles are ready, we decorate them and place them around the room. By the way, you can add a few drops of essential oil to the melted wax, and then during the burning process the candle will delight you with a wonderful aroma.
