How to make a compact cooking stove out of clay and cement
To cook in the garden using fallen branches as fuel, you can make a very compact, portable wood stove using clay and cement. Food cooked on it is many times tastier than on an electric or gas stove, and besides, with it you will solve the problem of piling up branches. This oven is very easy to make.
It is necessary to cut out a block and an insert from polystyrene foam. Block parameters in section 100x50 mm. The length of it should lie on the bottom of the bucket from wall to wall. To do this, it requires rounding the ends. The liner is made 250x250 mm. It needs to be given an arched shape so that it can fit between the walls of the bucket and the tin can inserted into it.
Next, a thick solution based on clay, cement and water is mixed.
It is placed on the bottom of the bucket to a height of 50-70 mm. Then a foam block is placed on top of it. It must be covered with mortar on the sides.
A tin can is placed in the bucket and aligned in the center.A solution is applied to the sides of it, leveled and reinforced with a wire ring.
You need to compact 50-70 mm of mortar, then remove the can and lay out the grate bars from the reinforcement.
The jar is placed on the grate again, and the liner is inserted between it and the wall of the bucket. It should be located above the block. Next, the remaining space in the bucket is filled with solution and compacted. The furnace is reinforced with wire along the upper rim.
The tin can is immediately removed and the walls are smoothed. The rim on top should be smoothed with a wet hand, and the grate from the gas stove should be pressed into it.
After the solution has dried, the plastic bucket is cut and the stove is removed. You need to cut out the foam, scrape off the sagging, and refine the oven by coating it with liquid clay.
You need to make a shelf from a piece of reinforcement and wire to support the stacked firewood.
It will rest against the far grate. The stove is then lit and used for cooking. Be sure to use dry firewood to avoid soot on pots and pans.
What you will need:
- plastic bucket 20 l;
- foam 100 mm;
- clay;
- cement;
