How to make a device from a transformer for quickly checking the armature of an electric motor
For those who often repair burnt-out engines of angle grinders, drills, screwdrivers, planes, jigsaws and other tools, an anchor tester will be very useful. This is a simple device to manufacture, which is made from a transformer. With it you can identify burnt out rotors quickly and clearly.
What you will need:
- transformer OSO 0.25/1-UZ;
- insulating tape;
- double circuit breaker;
- the wire;
- fork.
Device manufacturing process
On the transformer core it is necessary to cut a wedge to the coil.
It is made so wide that an anchor can be placed in it. To do this, the transformer is clamped in a vice. To avoid damaging the winding, it is better to wrap it with a couple of layers of cardboard.
Then the winding is wrapped with electrical tape. Next, a wire with a plug and a switch is screwed to the transformer.
If you apply a working armature to the cut of a transformer connected to the network, it will not magnetize. To check it, you should turn it completely and examine the magnetism over the entire surface.
When the rotor is short-circuited, when turning, there will be magnetic areas on it that attract metal objects. In this case, the reason for engine failure is in the armature.
