How to make a puller for “blind” bearings from an anchor with a reverse hammer
To remove pressed-in bearings with a loose inner race, you can use a puller with a reverse hammer. It is many times easier to manufacture than any other designs. Its assembly will take no more than 20 minutes, of course, if all the parts are available.
Materials:
- expansion anchor;
- rod;
- heavy bushing;
- screw.
Puller manufacturing process
A spacer anchor is welded to a rod 40-60 cm long from the head side. The diameter of the latter is selected so that when it expands it rests against the walls of the inner race of the bearing.
A heavy bushing is placed on the rod. It can be turned on a lathe or simply drilled into a round blank.
Then weld a nut onto its end, which will serve as a limiter.
To use the puller, you need to insert the anchor into the inner race of the bearing and open it. Then hitting the welded nut with the sliding sleeve can quickly knock out the bearing.
