How to remove a bearing race from the housing
If the bearing falls apart, it is almost impossible to remove the stuck race with pullers. This happens rarely, but it does happen. The extraction task in this case becomes more complicated, but remains feasible.
The essence of the pressing process in such a situation is to restore the bearing directly inside the housing. Once the inner race is installed, everything can be removed in the usual way. To do this, you will need to select a similar old bearing.
The sides are removed from it, and the separator is knocked out with a screwdriver.
Next, the balls of the old bearing are collected with a screwdriver to one side. After this, curved long-nose pliers are inserted into the inner cage, and it is turned out to break.
Lubricant is applied to the outer race stuck in the housing. Balls from the disassembled old bearing are glued onto it. They need to be collected on one side.
Next, the inner race is inserted and the balls are moved apart to secure it.
For better removal, warm up the clip with a hot air gun.
After this, the already assembled bearing is removed as usual, by hitting a hammer through the head or using a puller.
