How to make liquid plastic to coat metal

A layer of plastic on a metal surface protects it from corrosion better than any paint, since it does not peel off or crack. Application of the polymer can be done not only in production, but also at home. Liquid plastic for this is easy to make yourself.

Materials:

• acetone;
• ABS plastic.

To coat the metal, a liquid polymer is prepared, consisting of 80% acetone and 20% ABS plastic. As the latter, various recyclable materials from this material can be used. Cases for office equipment, bottles for household chemicals, children's toys, etc. are made from it. Recycled ABS plastic is cut or broken into small pieces.

Dissolution is carried out in a tightly closed glass container. In about an hour, the plastic will completely dissolve.

The composition is applied to the metal with a brush like regular paint. Drying occurs in 2-3 hours. It is best to apply 3 layers. This coating does not paint the surface, but very reliably blocks the access of moisture to it.

It does not go away in cold or heat. This is the best home corrosion protection. If necessary, the top of the plastic can be painted with regular paint, for decorative purposes.
