How to make liquid plastic and cover tool handles with it
Liquid plastic is similar to thick paint, except that after hardening it turns into plastic. Making it at home or in the garage is not difficult. All you need is a couple of ingredients.
You will need the following
- Xylene.
- Several types of plastic.
- Tightly closing container.
How to make liquid plastic
In theory, you just need to mix xylene with hard, broken plastic and get liquid plastic at the end. But here, as you probably already guessed, not everything is so simple. The fact is that xylene does not dissolve all brands of plastic, so you need to experiment.
We take 2 samples: a piece of the body of a computer device and rods from a plastic broom. Grind everything and fill 2 vessels.
Fill with xylene in a ratio of 1 to 1.
We leave it for two weeks, yes, we will have to wait. As a result, the experiment in a jar with a broken body was a success.
It turned out to be liquid plastic, the best you can get.
Where to use homemade liquid plastic
Homemade plastic adheres well to metal, so it can be used to cover the handles of any metal tool. We just take a brush and apply the composition in a thick layer like paint onto, say, pliers.
Let it dry in the fresh air.
And, as a result, we get an almost monolithic coating that is easy to hold in your hand.
You can come up with other uses for this wonderful liquid miracle plastic yourself.
