4 tricks for small household repairs
Something breaks at every home. Something needs to be replaced, but in most cases everything can be solved by repair. Let's look at 4 tips that will help you quickly and easily fix common household problems in your home.
1. Installation of a torn furniture hinge made of chipboard
Doors furniture chipboard often falls off because the screws holding the hinges come out of its walls. This can be fixed by drilling out the torn hole from the screw and gluing a dowel into it.
After the glue has dried, the protruding part of the dowel is cut off.
Then a thin blind hole is drilled in it and the loop is screwed to the insert.
2. Installation of torn out pipe wall mounting
When laying pipes externally, they are screwed to the wall with staples or clips. If over time these fasteners have become loose and the dowel is no longer held in the hole, you can use homemade dowels. You need to cut chops of suitable diameter and length from wood.
They are driven into the holes instead of the torn out dowels.
Then the pipe mount is screwed to them.
3.Removing a stuck dowel
If you need to pull a dowel out of the wall, you should simply screw a half-tapping screw into it. Then they are pulled out together with a nail puller.
4. Screwing in screws with a hook using a screwdriver
To quickly tighten a self-tapping screw or a screw with a hook, you can hold a regular door lock key in the screwdriver chuck. The hole in the latter is used to hook the hook.
