How to lengthen broken wires in a socket
When replacing Soviet sockets with modern ones, such a problem as broken wires occurs extremely often. At that time, only aluminum wiring was used in the construction of buildings, which broke quite quickly even with infrequent and slight bending.
As a result, to replace the socket, it is necessary not only to reliably extend the short wires, but to correctly connect the aluminum and copper wires. Anyone who knows even a little about electrical engineering knows that it is impossible to connect aluminum and copper directly.
The task is not difficult and quite doable.

How to repair broken wires in a socket
Using a screwdriver and a hammer, you need to carefully hollow out a small recess on top of the socket box without damaging the wires.
Then bite off the broken piece. Also, using a piece, you need to cut off the space for the terminal block in the steel socket box.
Next, you need to carefully expose 1 cm of wires using a utility knife.
Now you need to install the terminal block on the wires, securing it with screws.Copper wires of the required length are installed on the second side of the block.
We insulate this unit with electrical tape so that we can putty the repair area so that the wet plaster does not touch the current-carrying contacts.
Now all that remains is to install a new outlet.
Putty the repair area and install the front panel.
Before applying power to the outlet and using it, it is advisable to wait until the plaster is completely dry.
This type of extension is quite quick to do and will eliminate the problem of connecting copper to aluminum.
