How to lift a sagging car door in a couple of minutes
Used cars usually have doors that begin to sag as mechanical wear occurs on their hinges. When the door is closed on such a car, the impact of the lock body on the latch pin is visible and heard.
Almost any adult can lift the hinges without replacing the hinges or dismantling the door, in two fairly simple and not difficult to implement ways. Each of them will require no more than 1 minute of time.
The first way to lift the door
In the first case, we eliminate the defect using a wrench, extension, head No. 13 and an ordinary round washer of appropriate thickness. To do this, we support the outer corner of the door from below with our knee, thereby preventing it from moving when loosening and unscrewing the hinge bolts.
Between the parts of the loop we put a washer on the bolt and tighten the hardware until it stops.
In this case, the door rises and the lock closes correctly. If the door hinge has several fastening bolts, then it is necessary to place the same washers under each bolt of the lower hinge.
Second way
Another repair option is carried out using only one standard bolt, having previously wrapped electrical tape around it to avoid damage to the paintwork.
It is enough to clamp this hardware in the area of the bottom hinge by applying controlled pressure on the door. You cannot overdo it here, since it will be quite difficult to return the situation to its original position.
At the same time, we eliminate the creaking in the door stop. First, remove the old grease using a degreaser and a cloth. New lubrication with lithol or oil will only give a temporary effect, since dust will gradually stick to it and the creaking will resume again. It is better to lubricate the limiter with solid soap soaked in water. After it dries, the lubricating properties will remain, and dust will not stick to the dry lubricant.
