Do-it-yourself resistant anticorrosive for a car

Anti-corrosion treatment of arches and bottoms is necessary for all cars, including those with a fully galvanized body, since they are constantly exposed to dirt, water, sand, stones, aggressive reagents, etc.

Do-it-yourself anticorrosive for a car

First, we will process the wheel arches, after removing the wheels.

We see that the zinc coating is missing in places and the metal is exposed. Next, having removed the lockers, using a radial brush and drill, we clean the metal from rust and other deposits, including the side members.

To clean hard-to-reach places, we use flat-head screwdrivers, brushes of various shapes and sizes, Dremel, etc.

We treat all cleaned areas with a rust converter and allow time for it to react with the remaining oxidized metal. Then we clean off the resulting components with a dry cloth or brush.

We rinse the cleaned arch with running water, washing away the remaining rust and dirt converter, and wait for it to dry completely. Next, degrease the surface with a universal degreaser or brake disc cleaner.

Cover the brake mechanism with plastic film and apply epoxy primer to a dry, grease-free surface.

We wait for the soil to dry completely, which can be accelerated with a hairdryer, and cover the edge of the arch with masking tape. Suitable sound insulation can be applied to the dried primer to dampen resonating sounds.

Let's start preparing an eternal anti-corrosion agent. To do this, heat up the polymer-bitumen mastic and cannon lard on an electric stove and mix them in a one-to-one ratio. Place the mixture on the stove again and heat until it becomes homogeneous and liquid like water.

Apply the anti-corrosion agent with a brush or gravitex gun in 3 layers without any drying between layers. Our product is very resistant to mechanical damage and is restored even after damage to its surface by stones. It perfectly resists water, abrasives, reagents and eliminates small areas of rust.

It’s better not to mix mastic and lard
