Unusual decor It will come in handy for Christmas as a gift for children or friends. It is very simple to do and does not take much time. The main thing is to prepare all the tools and materials in advance.
To create a star you will need:
- 2 sheets of thin felt (viscose) – green and yellow;
- cotton wool for filling the product;
- green thick threads;
- bright narrow ribbon;
- small decor in the form of stars and flowers (can be replaced with beads);
- scissors, glue, pencil;
- paper for blanks;
- toothpicks or long sticks;
- dry soap;
- needles of different thicknesses.
The work is carried out in stages. First, you need to make 2 main parts of the product: a star and a wand. The rest of the time will be devoted to decorating the product.
The first step is to create blanks for the main elements of the product. To do this, you will need 1 large sheet of paper, a ruler and a well-sharpened pencil. Draw a medium-sized star with 5 ends and another smaller one.You can use plain paper, but it is better to make blanks from cardboard. Take scissors and carefully cut out the paper stars.
Place the finished shapes on a sheet of felt and trace all the contours with dry soap. For a large star, green felt is suitable, and for a small star, bright yellow felt. You need to get 2 blanks for each star.
Let's start preparing the first part of the product - the star. It is necessary to sew 2 halves of the blanks with green threads. Use an overlock stitch with a thread catch. Go around the entire outline of the star, filling the star with cotton wool. To push it inside, it is convenient to use a thin stick or toothpick. As it fills, the cotton wool should be straightened and leveled. Between one of the ends of the star, leave space to add a stick.
The finished star can be put aside for now. Proceed to creating a wand for her. Take a sheet of paper and roll it into a tube, attach it to the felt and measure out a piece of the desired size. You need to cut out a long rectangle from felt, bend it in half and sew one edge with thread. You can make a regular seam, but we will still turn it inside out.
When the leg is ready, fill it with cotton wool and leave the upper end open. In addition to cotton wool, you can fill the tube with paper or long sticks tied together. The finished elements, a star and a wand, need to be connected. For this we also use green thread. There is no need to worry too much about seams and knots; they can be hidden with a beautiful ribbon.
We decorate the star with a yellow insert in the shape of a smaller star, sewing it on top with sweeping stitches. The stick must be wrapped with ribbon crosswise, tying a beautiful bow at the end.The final decoration of the star itself is to glue small beads or small stars and flowers. It is convenient to use kits for decorating baked goods. A pleasant smell will create a special holiday atmosphere.
The decor is attached with glue to the ends of the star. Add a few pieces in the center of the product. You won't need much drying time if the glue is good. You can decorate your Christmas tree with festive decor.
