Restoration of the table
Every person has encountered such a problem as hatred of objects. furniture. Often, even the most favorite table or box gets boring, and you are ready to give everything not to see it. To solve this problem, the most ideal option would be to get your hands on it and do a little digging on the Internet. One of the ways to solve my problem was decoupage.
To carry out my plan, I needed two ordinary paper napkins with a pattern, medical alcohol, decoupage varnish, a medium-hard brush, acrylic volumetric scissors and a couple of hours of free time.
Before cutting paper with scissors, you need to imagine the outcome of the future crafts and cut out only the necessary elements. When the necessary motifs are cut out, place them on the surface of the “patient”.
Before you start gluing, you need to remove all the lower layers. As a rule, there are two or three of them.
Before the main part of the work, you need to thoroughly degrease the surface by wiping it with alcohol.
Now we can get down to the basics. The selected motif must be glued very carefully and quickly, since the paper is very thin and quickly becomes saturated with liquid varnish. It is best to coat a fragment of the pattern from the middle to the edges, just like gluing wallpaper. Lifting the edge slightly, apply varnish directly over the design.
It’s better not to skimp on the varnish; after drying, it will still become transparent. While one motif is drying, you can work on the rest.
After an hour, you can add a couple of strokes with a volumetric outline. I liked two colors in the store: metallic gray and emerald.
You can draw, repeating the contours of the pattern, or you can draw in a chaotic manner.
Now we wait until the contour dries, usually this takes no more than an hour.
Then, you need to cover the patterns with varnish a couple more times, with breaks of an hour and a half. Don’t be afraid to go beyond the boundaries of the design, because the varnish will become transparent after drying, and glossy stains only add their own zest.
After drying well, the work can be checked for strength. If everything was done correctly, even intensive cleaning with a stiff brush will not harm the motives. My son is always the inspector; he always has to try to pick everything out with his fingernail.
Here are more examples of transforming interior items using the decoupage technique, please do not judge too harshly..
