Mouse pad

Many people who spend a lot of time at the computer have to change their mouse pad more often than usual. Most people go to the store and just buy new clothes, sometimes for a lot of money. I propose another solution to this problem. You can spend very little time and make such a necessary thing yourself with minimal costs.

To make the rug I needed the following things:

• a small piece of linoleum (fortunately, renovations were recently done);
  
• acrylic paints (blue and white);
  
• a piece of foam sponge;
  
• printed paper napkins;
  
• decoupage varnish;
  
• acrylic volume contours;
  
• PVA glue.

To begin, cut out a square of linoleum measuring 25 centimeters.



For my rug, I decided to make the corners rounded, so I attached a round glass and carefully cut them along the contour with a stationery knife.



Now, apply a little white paint or whitewash to the sponge and paint the surface with stamping movements.



I decided to do it this way.



Whitening the surface in decoupage is done so that the picture is brighter, since the napkin is very thin and transmits the color of the surface on which it is glued.Using glue, we fix the selected print on the linoleum.



If there are several drawings you like, it is better to stick them one by one, after the previous one has dried.



Since linoleum is a very flexible material, some areas of my motifs bunched up, but this is not a crime. Eventually they won't be as noticeable.



After the glue has dried well, you need to cover the resulting collage with several layers of decoupage varnish.



Then, after it had dried, I applied a voluminous contour with glitter to the sponge and walked over the entire surface with the same movements as in the beginning. In addition to shine, this gave the picture a certain agedness, which only added to its beauty.




Now we repeat the procedure of painting the background with a sponge once again, only with blue paint.



We cover the whole thing with another 3-5 layers of varnish so that the result of the work done does not remain on the bottom of the mouse. Once everything has dried at room temperature, you can use the new thing.
In my case, I decided to make a standard square rug, but a flight of fancy in such situations can come up with many fancy shapes and design options. Color, design and other parameters are selected solely according to the nature of the computer user, because this will affect his ability to work. A too bright spot on your desktop will not always add to your mood; sometimes it can just be annoying. Therefore, making such a thing in present, ask the recipient’s preferences.
