Butterfly Morpho

To make such a butterfly from ribbons, you will need:
• Blue or light blue satin ribbon 5 centimeters wide.
• White satin ribbon 5 centimeters wide.
• Glue gun.
• Two small beads.
• One large bead.
• Scissors.
• Fishing line.
• Candle.

The first step in creating Morpho will be making the petals kanzashi, which we will later glue and form into wings.
Cut 24 squares from the blue ribbon (5x5 cm). Carefully and carefully singe the edges of the tape. Make sure that it does not catch fire, but only melts slightly.




And fold them as shown in the photo below. First, connect the corners of the square to form a triangle.


Then, fold the same triangle in half two more times. You should end up with a classic kanzashi petal.




To prevent the petal from falling apart, take it so that its edges are visible. Melt them and press them a little with your fingers. Trim the excess fabric at the bottom and heat it. In the end, you need to make twenty-two of these petals.








When all the leaves are ready, you can start creating the body. To do this you need to make two two-color petals. Fold the blue ribbon in half as in the previous version, then in half again.Fold the white ribbon in the same way. Place it on top of the blue ribbon. Continue working as in the classic version.








Now let's form the wings of the butterfly. Take two blue petals and glue them together.



Glue another petal between them.



We will need six of these shamrocks - three for one side and three for the other.



Next, glue the blanks together as shown in the photo. We need two of these wings.



Glue two two-color petals. They will serve as the body for the butterfly and support for the wings.



Glue all the wings to the body.




Decorate the middle with a bead, button, stone or rhinestone.



To make antennae, take fishing line and two beads. Cut two three-centimeter pieces from the fishing line. Lubricate its end with glue and put on the bead. Glue the antennae to the butterfly.




This butterfly can be used as a Christmas tree decoration, brooch, decoration for clothes and hair, or simply as a wonderful piece of furniture. Attach a pin to the back of the Morpho butterfly, and then you can wear it as a brooch. Or glue it to a crab clip. Then you will have a wonderful homemade hair decoration.
