Cute flowers - petals
Every needlewoman simply must have her work in her home. And it doesn’t matter at all what it is: an embroidered panel or a floral topiary - the main thing is that it inspires new masterpieces and gives positive emotions. One of my first works was such a discovery - flowers embroidered with ribbons. For work I used the following set of materials:
ribbons of three colors 2.5 cm, one ribbon 0.5 cm;
hoop;
scissors;
regular sewing thread that matches the color of the ribbons;
a needle with a wide eye.
First of all, cut off several 25-centimeter pieces from each (wide) tape. Carefully melt the edges with a lighter. This is done so that during the process of embroidery and subsequent washing, the edges, or rather the outer threads, do not fray and the flower does not melt in your hands. Then we sew each section with a simple thread using a regular basting stitch. For clarity, next to the already stitched tape is a diagram.
At one end we make a strong knot, and at the other, carefully pull the remaining end of the thread and pull the ribbon into a flower.
Now, we securely fasten the work done with thread and attach (sew) the flower to the fabric in the chosen place.
The number of flowers of a particular color depends entirely on you and your taste.
I decided that my canvas would have this composition of ribbon flowers.
The work is almost ready. Now you can start filling in the centers. Initially, I wanted to fill them with artificial stamens, which can easily be found on the shelves of handicraft stores. But in the process of work, I changed my mind, giving my preference to the “French knot.” This is how it is done. A thin ribbon is threaded through a needle.
Then, one of the ends is bent back half a centimeter twice.
Using the point of a needle, pierce the fold exactly in the center, and pull the entire ribbon through the puncture until you get a knot like this.
I prefer to leave the second end free (as when basting), I just melt the threads a little. It is best to do this at the bottom of the flame so that the edge remains plastic and not plastic.
So, a knot. You can find many different knots on the Internet, but I liked this one. The thing is that it is very simple to perform, and it almost always turns out excellent even on the first try. We take out the ribbon from the center of the sewn flower.
Then we apply the needle to the ribbon closer to the base and wrap it around it several times.
Now we pierce the fabric with the needle down, next to the place where it came out to the top. Carefully, pressing lightly with your finger, bring the entire tape to the wrong side. There should be a small knot like this left on the front side.
We make similar knots in all flowers.
You can consider the work done. All that remains is to find a suitable round frame.
