Knitted children's hat "Cat"
Original and beautiful children's hats always catch the eye. All passersby admire them. And you can knit such a beautiful hat yourself, but this requires a little time and patience. For work we will need: Yarn for knitting delicate children's items Alize Baby Wool. Grey colour. Any thin yarn of dark gray or burgundy color. Big needle. Knitting needles size 3 or 3.5. So, let's start making a baby hat. The hat fits a head volume of 90–95 cm. We take knitting needles of size 3 or 3.5. If you want to make the hat closer to the mesh, you can use knitting needles that are thicker in volume. We cast on the knitting needles 100 loops. The loops do not need to be tightened too much, otherwise the hat will then become stubborn and spin in different directions. After we have cast on the loops, we knit completely one row in knit stitch. If you want the hat not to twist, you can first knit five or more rows with an elastic band, about two knit stitches, two purl loops. I wanted the hat to curl, so I didn’t knit an elastic band. So, knit the first row with knit stitch, then knit the second row with purl stitch. At first I did this so that in the future the cap would not curl too high, since the threads are quite thin, they quickly begin to curl.

Then I knitted the entire fabric using stockinette stitch.

When knitting, do not be alarmed that the hat will begin to curl quickly; this effect is achieved by thin threads. On the finished product, the edge will no longer roll up like that.

After you have knitted about 20-21 centimeters, you can finish knitting the hat. You knit the last row like this: We knit two loops together, and then we transfer the resulting one back to the previous knitting needle, then we do the same work with the loops again. So, we do this until we have one loop left on the knitting needle. Cut the thread and pass it through the last loop, and tighten it well so that the thread does not slip out.

Now fold the fabric in half, take a needle, thread the same threads into it, sew the top and one edge of the fabric. Now the hat is sewn, but now you need to make ears and a muzzle on it.

We thread a dark gray thread through a needle, so that it differs in color from the entire background of the hat. And now, we sew each corner of the hat diagonally, so that we get cat ears.

The ears are sewn on, next we will embroider the muzzle.

First, we mark the middle of the cap and put a dot there with chalk - this will be the cat’s nose. Next, at the same distance from the nose, we make dots for the eyes.

Using the same dark gray thread we embroider the eyes and nose of the cat. Cross-stitch the eyes and nose as shown in the photo. You can immediately tie the eyes, nose and mouth during the entire knitting process - tie a thread, count the loops, then get tangled in these threads. I thought that this would take longer, so I cross-stitched the face on the finished hat.Now we embroider the cat’s mustache with the same thread. Next we take a burgundy thread and also embroider the mouth of our cat based on the picture.

This is how we slowly knitted a wonderful hat for the child.
