Braided bracelet “Double Shambhala”
Quite well-known and fashionable bracelets of this summer, as well as the previous one, are bracelets woven using the macrame technique called “shambhala”. They are very bright, harmonious, unique, and complement absolutely any outfit very well. In addition, these bracelets are in some way considered a talisman. Therefore, the filling of the beads on it can be selected for a specific person, since the symbolism of the stones is very extensive and rich. You can use nylon, waxed or leather cords as the basis for this bracelet. Anyone who already knows at least a little about the technique of macrame or weaving a simple shamballa will very quickly master this master class.
For weaving we need the following:
• Red waxed cord about four meters;
• Crystal beads of red and green colors, slightly oval, diameter 8 mm, 9 pieces;
• Artificial beads of red and brown round shape, 8 mm in diameter, also 9 pieces;
• 4 small white crystal beads with a diameter of 4 mm;
• Lighter;
• Oil PVA;
• Scissors;
• Clamps for work.
Let's begin. We cut two pieces of cord, 40-45 cm each. We fold them tightly together and fasten them into a clamp.
We measure out another piece of cord 120-130 cm long. We thread a long cord from below, fold it in half, and tie a knot.
We weave five double macramé knots, like a single shamballa. To do this, place the left side end of the cord under the bottom of the central cords and shift it to the opposite side. We place the second end, respectively the right one, on top, and also lay it out in a half ring on the opposite side. We get a half knot. Now we weave in reverse, the right one is below and the left one is above. We also tighten the knot tightly. It turns out we already have a full-fledged double knot.
We weave five such knots in total. We tie the last one as tightly as possible. Now we take beads, alternating them by color and material, and put nine of them on each of the central cords.
We take any thread, put both cords with beads together and knit a knot under the beads. We do this so that the beads do not move out. We attach another clamp from below.
We take the left cord and in a spiral, going down, wrap each bead one after another, as tightly as possible. The end of the cord is secured to the clamp. We do exactly the same with the right cord, only now we wrap each bead, passing the first one, in the opposite direction, also going down. Take the left cord and tie a knot together with the right one.
We weave, as in the beginning, five double knots. The latter is tightened well and cut off on the sides, leaving 2-3 cm. Spread the binding areas with PVA glue and leave to dry. Now the castle. Cut off 45-50 cm cord.
We fold the bracelet into a ring, trying it on according to the size of the hand. We take the cord for the lock, tie it at the bottom, folding it in half. We weave 8-9 double knots, it all depends on the diameter of the hand, you need to watch and adjust.We cut off the ends and also apply glue. When all the joints are dry, you can cut right to the very joint, then go through it with fire so that the cut area does not unravel.
All that remains is to put small white beads on the ends, tie knots and coat the ends with glue. Double shamballa is ready!
