Surprise postcard

Small souvenirs for St. Every lover is happy about Valentina. It’s good if the gift is welcome and pleasant. On this holiday it is customary to exchange valentines. These are small cards with pleasant words and declarations of love. But I don’t really want to buy a standard cardboard with the same poetic wishes. For my boyfriend, I wanted to do something original and unique. I gathered all my creative potential and this is what I came up with. Volumetric heart made of threads in a postcard box. You can do something similar for your significant other.

To work you will need:
- a sheet of thick cardboard (it is important that it is colored on both sides);
- a piece of aluminum wire;
- dark red knitting thread;
- a tube of PVA glue;
- scissors;
- all kinds of decorative additions (feathers, ribbons, sequins).



So, first you need to make a three-dimensional heart. To do this, take the wire and twist it into a heart shape. It is better to take aluminum wire, it bends very easily and can be given any shape. If it is difficult to manipulate, then use pliers.



Wrap it with dark red crochet thread.Just make sure that there are no empty spaces visible anywhere. It turns out that this is the heart - the main symbol of the holiday.



Now take a sheet of double-sided colored cardboard and draw it into squares. In total, you need to make 9 identical squares, the side of each is 7 cm. The result is a workpiece 21 cm by 21 cm. Cut off the corner squares. To work, you will need a cross-shaped blank, as shown in the photo.



Fold the four side squares inward. It turns out that the fifth (middle) square will contain a surprise in the form of a heart.



Now move on to decorating the four outer squares. You can write wishes to your soulmate and post photos of you together. Or make mini cards. For example, glue a beautiful ribbon and two pink hearts on it, decorate it with small red feathers, write “Love” with regular knitting threads, stick on sparkles and sequins.





Don't forget to glue red shiny ribbons about 15 cm long to the edge of each square. This can be done using tape or fabric glue.



Place a beautiful three-dimensional heart that you made from wire and thread in the center. You can also “refresh it” a little by decorating it with shiny stickers. It is better to place the craft in a vertical position. To do this, glue a piece of double-sided tape in the center and attach the heart to it. Tie opposite ribbons (in pairs). The surprise is ready.




When your significant other unties the ribbons, she will see that you are giving her your warm, bright and loving heart. An excellent holiday souvenir.



You can hide any other surprise item in the central square: a figurine of an angel, a small plush animal, a chocolate craft, a pendant and earrings, a ring or a bottle of perfume...
