Organza flower bow
A simple and elegant hair accessory in the shape of a flower can be made from leftover organza.
To create an accessory you will need the following materials and tools: organza, a narrow organza ribbon (one meter is enough), a sew-on stone in a metal frame, a hair elastic, scissors, a candle, a thin nylon thread, a needle and two round patterns with a diameter of 11 cm and 14 cm.
Sequence of work:
1. Cut out five round pieces with a diameter of 11 cm and 14 cm from organza. Melt the fabric along the edges.
2. Fold each piece in half with the wrong side inward and, stepping back from the edge 3 - 5 mm, sweep both halves in increments of 4 - 6 mm.
Gather the fabric, fasten the working thread and cut it.
You should get five identical petals of two different sizes.
3. String five identical petals onto a working thread
and close it into a ring, passing the needle again through the first petal. Fasten the working thread. In the same way, collect the remaining five petals into a ring.
4. Align both modules with their centers and sew along the inner edge of the petals to make a two-tiered flower.
5.Sew a stone in a metal frame into the middle of the flower.
6. Attach a hair tie to the wrong side of the model.
It is recommended to use a new thread to sew on the elastic so that, if necessary, the elastic can be replaced without damaging the flower itself. For greater reliability, the elastic can be secured by passing the working thread several times through the metal base of the sewing stone.
7. Between the tiers of the flower, tie three organza ribbons 30–33 cm long with a simple knot.
Additionally secure the tape by passing a needle through each knot and the metal frame of the stone.
Trim the ends of the tape to the required length and melt.
