Cat bed
When a soft and fluffy pet comes into our home, we want to surround it with care. We buy him bowls, food, toys and hygiene products.
When creating comfort for your cat, you must not forget about his sleeping place. I suggest sewing a comfortable bed for sleeping with a removable pillow. It will consist of two parts, but will look like a single whole.
The bed will be complemented by a pillow that is placed at the bottom of the product. This is convenient when the pillow is locally soiled; it can be washed separately from the bed.
We will need:
- dense natural fabric,
- padding polyester,
-threads, needles, scissors,
- pencil, pen, rulers and pattern paper,
- tape measure.
Work algorithm.
1. Take paper or newspaper, a pen, 2 rulers and scissors to create a pattern.
We draw an oval pattern, which we will need for both the bottom and the pillow. We make a pattern and cut it out using scissors.
The size is selected according to the dimensions of your pet. In this case, the pattern turned out to be 38 by 53 cm.
2. Place the pattern on the fabric, fasten it with needles and carefully cut it along the contour.
We make 4 identical blanks.
3. Take 2 blanks for the bottom, fold them together with their front sides facing inward and fasten them with needles.
4. Stitch, retreating from the edge by 1 cm.Leave a hole to fill the bottom with synthetic padding.
5. Place a thin layer of padding polyester inside.
6. Fasten the hole with needles.
And we stitch it on a typewriter. Additionally, you can stitch around the entire circumference of the product to better hold its shape.
7. We sew the bottom along and across so that we get squares. The bottom is ready.
8. Using a centimeter tape, measure the length of the bottom contour.
We add at least 10-15 cm to the resulting measurement and get the length of the side of the bed.
We make an increase due to the fact that when the sidewall is stuffed with synthetic padding, the length of the fabric increases.
9. Cut out a blank for the sidewall 36 cm wide and 152 cm long.
10. Take the sidewall blank, bend one edge by 1 cm and pin it with needles at a distance of 2 cm from the other edge. Thus, we perform two actions at once: we form the sidewall and do not allow the edge to change.

Then we stitch it on a machine.
11. Fill the side with padding polyester.
12. Using a ruler and pencil, make markings on the sidewall with a distance of 16 cm.
13. Sew the transverse seams on the sidewall according to the markings made.
14. Fold the free edge of the sidewall.
In the photo it is chipped with needles.
And we sew the sidewall to the bottom, placing the folded free edge under the bottom.
15. Sew the open parts of the sidewall. The main part is ready.
16. Let's start making the pillow. Place the pillow pieces right side out. We place a little padding polyester between them in the middle and pin it with needles. We chop off the workpieces with needles.
17. Using contrasting threads, sew a small circle in the middle and sectors from the center.
18. Fill the sectors tightly with padding polyester.
19. Sew a zigzag stitch around the circumference of the workpiece.
20.Fold the edge in slightly and finish it with a zigzag stitch.
We got a pillow.
So, the bed and pillow are ready.
And now you can connect them and invite the cat.
Your pet will definitely love this crib.
