Fur mouse toy for cat
When we bring a pet into our home, we surround it with care and love. We pamper our pets with delicious delicacies, comfortable beds for sleeping and beautiful bowls. However, you should also take care of toys for your furry friend. If you have a cat or cat in your home, you need to think about the play process. Cats of any breed need play sets and small toys. Don't rush to buy a toy in the store. I would like to suggest sewing a toy in the shape of a mouse with your own hands. For greater realism, I suggest using natural fur as a base material.
For sewing we will need:
Work algorithm.
1. First we decide on the size of the toy. We should get a medium-sized mouse. Based on these preferences, we draw a pattern on a sheet of paper using a ruler and pencil.
We will cut the bottom of the mouse, namely the belly, from fabric.
The top, or main part, will be sewn from mink fur.
The ears will consist of two parts, the larger part is fur, the smaller part is made of fabric.
The tail will be made of a thin strip of fur.
2. Cut out patterns from paper. We place the bottom pattern and the smaller part of the ears on the fabric, and pin it with needles.
Don't forget that there should be two ears.
3. Cut out the parts from the fabric. For the abdomen we make an allowance of 0.5 cm, for the ears no allowance is needed.
We got three parts.
4. Place the top pattern on the back side of the fur and pin it with needles.
It is necessary to position the pattern according to the growth of the fur hairs so that the pile on the back of the mouse faces backwards.
There should be 2 such parts.
5. We pin the pattern of the lower side of the ears to the fur, following the same principle as for the back.
We do this for both ears.
6. Cut out the fur parts. For the top we make an allowance of 2-3 mm, for other parts the allowance is not necessary.
Don't forget to cut the tail according to the pattern and without any allowance.
7. Carefully sew the back from the wrong side along the upper convex edge.
8. Take ear parts made of fur and fabric.
We place the fabric part on the front side of the fur with the wrong side down and sew it by hand along the edges. There is no need to make stitches often, just grab in several places.
We do this with the second ear. We carefully trim off the excess bristling fur with sharp scissors.
9. Sew the ears to the top details.
10. Sew the belly to the back, while simultaneously sewing in the tail at the back of the product. Leave a hole for stuffing with padding polyester.
11. Fill the product with padding polyester quite tightly.
Sew up the hole.
12. Take the mouse blank, all the beads and a needle and thread.
Sew eyes and nose onto the face. The eye beads are black, but you can use other colors. It is advisable to take a larger bead for the nose than for the eyes.
We trim the fur on the face with scissors so that the eyes are visible, and the animal looks more like a real mouse.
The mouse is ready.
Now you can comb it and give it to your favorite cat to play with.
Sewing a fur toy is an interesting and, most importantly, useful activity. This will require accuracy and patience, but all the work will be rewarded with the joy of your pet.
Give your cat such a toy, and he will thank you with a therapeutic purr.
