DIY brooch with Ukrainian symbols
More recently, a flower was added to Ukrainian symbolism, which is now the symbol of Ukraine - the poppy. Therefore, all holidays are now associated with this flower, which is a decoration on various objects. These are towels, embroidered shirts, wreaths, hoops, hairpins, elastic bands, brooches. So, for example, if you go to crowded places on certain holidays, you will probably meet almost every person who has some thing or object with a poppy on it. Also, children from kindergarten and school are taught to respect the symbols of the country, so on certain holidays children can also see beautiful decorations in their hair with a poppy, or an embroidered shirt, or a brooch on the chest. Often there is even a rush before the holidays to buy something with poppy seeds, so in such cases there is a rather practical way out of this situation - to make, for example, a brooch with Ukrainian symbols with your own hands. As a matter of fact, we will deal directly with this now.
To make such a brooch we will need:
So, first we need to cut out three stars of the required diameter. You can search for them on the Internet, or draw them yourself, the most important thing is that the angles match, but the diameters are different. For convenience, we also cut out circles inside.
We take the largest star and a satin yellow-blue ribbon, singe the edge of the ribbon, apply it in the center and begin to wrap the first edge of the star, we also bring it to the center and glue it in the center with a drop of glue gun.
Now we wrap the entire star like this, edge by edge. We also burn the edge of the ribbon and finish it in the center.
We wrap the second star using the same principle with a swamp-colored grosgrain ribbon. Rep wraps a little easier, it is more manageable than satin ribbon and holds its shape well. We also wrap the smallest star with grosgrain ribbon, but this time yellow-blue. We wrapped all three stars, glued all the edges well and now carefully remove all three stars from the cardboard templates.
We also cut two small pieces from a wide grosgrain ribbon and burn the edges.
From yellow felt we cut out a circle 3-3.5 cm in diameter. We glue it from below under the largest star.
Then we turn it over and glue in wide rep stripes with poppies, then a green star, and then glue in the smallest star. In the center we glue a poppy made of polymer clay, and at the bottom we glue a brooch onto felt.
It turns out this is a symbolic brooch in the Ukrainian style.Thank you for your attention and good luck to everyone!
