Brooch for May 9

Victory Day is widely celebrated in Russia today. On this great day, Russians wear the St. George ribbon with pride for their ancestors. This decoration has become quite popular given the rise in patriotism in recent times. And of course, everyone wants to please themselves and those around them with a luxurious accessory on their chest on this significant day. In fact, making a brooch for the holiday of May 9 with your own hands is not difficult. For work we will need:
- St. George Ribbon.
- Tricolor ribbon.
- Glue "Moment".
- Beads are brown and white.
- Pin clasp.
- Lighter.

So, let's start creating the brooch. First, let’s mark the St. George ribbon into ribbons of the following sizes:
1 ribbon (brooch base) - length 22 cm.
5 ribbons (petals) - length 7 cm.
First, glue the long base tape together. Don't forget to touch the edges of each strip with a lighter flame. Make the ends of the ribbon like a flag, cutting off a small triangle.

Next, we will begin to form the petals, which we will later combine into a star.

In order to make a leaf, you need to bend the tape in half perpendicularly.

Then fold it in half again.

This is a view of the petal from the reverse side.

Now fold it in half again and fold the edges up. After this, we treat the ends of the petal with glue. Glue it together. We do this with each of the five petals.

The time has come when you need to beautifully lay the leaves on the base tape and secure them with glue. Glue a beautiful bead or a flat pebble as in the photo on top. On the reverse side, also use glue to glue the clasp with a pin.

That's all, work on the brooch is finished. It must be said that there can be quite a lot of variations. For example, you can combine the colors of two tricolor ribbons and the St. George ribbon. Or just like that, adding regular brown satin ribbons to the star.

You can, of course, simply tie a St. George’s ribbon in the usual way on May 9, but undoubtedly, a brooch with your own hands is a much more beautiful, elegant accessory.
