Batman's Key Holder
This craft is very easy to make. It will appeal to all fans of The Dark Knight.
To make a key holder we will need:
STEP 1: Find an image of the Batman logo on the INTERNET and print it out.
Choose the image size that you think is necessary. In my case, the size was about 30 cm in length and 12 cm in width.
STEP 2: Transfer the image to the plywood using glue or carbon paper and cut it out with a jigsaw.
STEP 3: Using a file and sandpaper, carefully process the edges and plane of the workpiece.
Step 4: Next, mark out the places for the hooks. I decided that my key holder would have 4 hooks. Tip: Don't place hook spots too close to edges or to each other, because plywood is a fairly fragile material. After you have marked the places for the hooks, using a drill with a diameter slightly larger or matching the diameter of the dowel, we drill holes.
STEP 5: Now let's start creating the hooks. The dowel seemed too long for me, so I sawed it into two equal parts. We retreat 4-5mm from the edge of the dowel and, using a round needle file, make a small indentation so that the key ring does not slip out from there. The hook is ready. You can sand it with sandpaper.
STEP 6: After you have made the required number of hooks, they need to be glued into the drilled holes. Make sure that the edges of the hooks do not protrude from the reverse side.
STEP 7: After the glue has completely dried, we begin painting the key holder. For this I used black acrylic spray enamel. It is better to coat products with this paint in several layers. But if there is no such paint, then you can use ordinary gouache or black watercolor, but then, after the paint has dried, it will need to be coated with a colorless varnish to furnitureso that if water gets on the key holder, the paint does not come off. Also, if you like the color of the wood, you can do without painting or simply coat the craft with any wood varnish.
STEP 8: Once the paint is dry, you can think about attaching the key holder to the wall. This can be done in several ways. For example, use self-tapping screws to attach the product to the wall. But, since plywood is a rather fragile material, I decided not to risk damaging the craft. In this regard, I chose thick double-sided tape for fastening. Since the key holder together with the keys weighs less than 300 grams in total, there will not be a large load on the key holder and the tape will not come off the wall. Therefore, we cut several pieces of double-sided tape and stick them on the back of the key holder so that they do not extend beyond the edges of the key holder.
THE KEY HOLDER IS READY! Now you can place it in the hallway or give it to someone.
In fact, it doesn't have to be Batman. You can take any image you like: a cat, a house, a car, and so on. The main thing is to understand how to make this craft. Such a key holder is not only an excellent gift for your family and friends, but also a very convenient thing to use in everyday life.
