• Sandpaper
• File
• Vise
• Brush
• Pencil
Description of work
A stand for a spiral-shaped teapot is very easy to cut out of wood, and even easier from an MDF board!
Translate the given “Snail” motif onto tracing paper and enlarge it on a photocopier to the required size. The diameter of our stand is about 20 cm.
Transfer the contours of the motif onto an MDF board using carbon paper, secure the plate with the motif in a vice and cut the motif along the contour with a hacksaw in the direction from the outer end to the inner. Thoroughly clean all edges with sandpaper or a file and carefully remove abrasive dust. Prime the stand with white acrylic paint and let the paint dry completely. Then paint the top surface of the stand in the color of your choice.Attention: acrylic varnish is not heat-resistant, so if you plan to place a kettle with boiling water on the stand directly from the fire, do not coat the product with varnish!
