T-shirt rug
What to do with old T-shirts? This question interests many housewives. But they can be put to good use! For example, you can make a rug from T-shirts. A knitted rug will be in demand both in the apartment and in the country. This rug is comfortable and practical to use.
And you can make it using a regular 4 mm thick hook and several T-shirts. The entire process of making a rug can be divided into 2 stages: 1 – making knitted yarn and 2 – knitting yarn rug.
1. First of all, you need to make knitting yarn from which we will knit a rug. To do this, cut off the top part of the T-shirt, starting from the sleeves. Place the piece of the T-shirt with the seam facing you.
2. We make cuts from bottom to top, not reaching the top edge of 2 cm. The width of the strips should be about 1.5-2 cm.
3. Unfold the cut T-shirt so that the top seam is visible.
4. Next, we begin to cut the strips. We make the first cut after the first strip away from us and diagonally through 2 strips on the opposite side.
5. We cut all subsequent strips in order.
6. A solid circle is formed at the end and at the beginning.
7. We cut it along the bias so that we get a continuous thread.
8. The result is a ball of solid knitted yarn. So we cut several T-shirts and get skeins of yarn of different colors.
1. Let's start knitting the rug. In this case, we will knit a square rug measuring 60 * 60 cm. To do this, we crochet a ribbon of air loops equal to 60 cm.
2. Next we perform a single crochet (SC). To do this, you need to insert the hook into the next loop after the top and grab the working thread. In this case, we grab the thread through the front wall of the air loop.
3. We pull the knitted thread through both loops located on the hook. We get RLS.
4. We knit stitches to the end of the row. Then we turn the knitting to face us.
5. Perform a lifting loop.
6. Then insert the hook behind the back wall of the loop of the previously knitted row.
7. We knit the sc in the same way as described earlier.
8. Knit the row to the end. We get a beautiful pattern in the form of braids.
9. Next, we alternate knitting sc in relation to the location of the loop walls.
10. When the main thread runs out, sew on another thread and continue knitting.
11. After the rug has been knitted to the desired size, you need to cut the thread, leaving a small piece for fastening.
12. We thread the tip of the thread into the outer loop.
13. Tighten the thread, forming a knot.
14. Trim the excess yarn and sew the tip of the thread to the rug.
15. The T-shirt rug is ready!
