Comprehensive cleaning of the iron using all available means
Now I will show you how incredibly easy it is to clean the iron not only from the outside, but also from the inside, using products that are always available in almost any kitchen. In one go, the soleplate of the iron and its water tank with all channels will be cleaned. The iron will shine again and produce steam like new.
Will need
- Table vinegar 9% (not acetic acid 70%, but vinegar).
- Baking soda.
- Unnecessary cotton fabric, towel.
Iron cleaning process 2 in 1
Pour vinegar into the water tank. Approximately 100-150 ml.
Turn on the iron to medium temperature and let it warm up. Next, turn on the steam supply and begin ironing any unnecessary fabric. At the same time, actively press the steam release button.
Iron until there is no vinegar left in the reservoir. At this time, traces of cleaning will be visible on the white fabric: yellow or brown spots. Vinegar does a great job of removing all traces of scale and lime deposits inside, leaving all your steam holes and channels looking like new again.
Let's move on to cleaning the soles
Spread a damp towel. Place a damp cloth or cloth folded several times on it. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of baking soda on top.
Preheat the iron to medium heat and begin ironing the soda with a little force.
And you will see how the carbon deposits fall off the sole of the iron.
Let the iron cool down.
Then take a soft cloth and remove the remaining soda. You may need to use a toothpick to clean out the steam holes.
This is how you can maintain your iron without extra effort and expense and extend its life for many years.
