I discovered a glue that is several times cheaper and more convenient than regular superglue. Two-component, instant action

Today the market is flooded with a variety of adhesives for joining wood, glass, plastic, leather, cardboard, etc. But they must be kept for some time after application to the surface, not removed under pressure for several hours, used after 24 hours, etc. From -due to their fluidity, they are difficult to apply to vertical surfaces. And the prices are steep. The two-component adhesive gel discussed below does not have all these disadvantages.

Will need

We will use high-viscosity cyanoacrylate superglue “Akfix 705” and an activator aerosol, which reduces the setting and hardening time of the glue to several seconds. We will check the method of application and capabilities of these materials on a disassembled wooden box. We will also need a small screwdriver to check the condition of the glue - liquid or already hardened.

Algorithm for using superglue

First, an indispensable condition for all adhesives, including the one being tested: the surfaces to be joined are thoroughly cleaned, degreased and dried before applying the adhesives.

To fix the drawer frame and ensure right angles, apply glue along the joint lines with a rope. Using a screwdriver, make sure that the adhesive mass is liquid. You can leave it in this state, but then the hardening process will be delayed.

We apply a hardener from an aerosol can to the glue and literally before our eyes it hardens, which we also check with a screwdriver.

First we fix one frame, and then the second one along it.
After fixing the frame of the box, we put in place the lid and bottom made of plywood sheet. To do this, apply glue along the perimeter of the frame with a thin rope, and spray an aerosol on the edges of the installed parts.

After this, apply the lid or bottom to the frame and press lightly. We make sure that the connection immediately acquires rigidity and strength. For reliability, apply a little glue to the inner corners of the frame and spray with hardener. Now the box is suitable for storing tools or hardware without fear that it will fall apart.

The declared properties of the glue were confirmed:

• the strength of the adhesive layer is higher than the strength of wood;
  
• the parts being connected can be adjusted as long as necessary;
  
• when the glue is treated with a hardener, rapid crystallization occurs;
  
• the adhesive gel is easy to apply and does not run off vertical surfaces;
  
• the price is several times lower compared to other brands;
  
• Particularly effective when gluing porous materials;
  
• the possibility of sticking fingers is excluded.

But we must remember that the composition is flammable and has a pungent odor. When using it indoors, good ventilation is required. Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
