Bottle vase with autumn ikebana
For a school crafts competition we made a vase like this: the autumn theme was revealed and natural materials were used. I consider the main advantage of this work to be its versatility and durability. A composition of branches can stand for as long as desired and, if desired, it can always be replaced with fresh flowers.
To make a vase from a bottle you will need:
Beautiful bottle with a wide neck,
Matte spray paint,
Artistic acrylic paints,
Brushes,
Simple pencil,
Natural materials (twigs, cones, leaves).
Wash the bottle, remove all labels and dry. Of course, you need a bottle of an original shape. In this case, a wine bottle was used.
Paint the dry bottle with matte spray paint. It is better to use a neutral color: gray, black or white.
When the bottle is dry, you can apply the design. First we sketch it in pencil, then paint it with acrylic paints.
The peculiarity of this painting is that the design should look harmonious no matter how the vase is rotated. I chose an autumn rural landscape: pumpkin fields and a meadow with grazing cows.
For those who do not know how to draw, I can suggest a printing technique.Leaves coated with a thin layer of paint are applied to the bottle and carefully smoothed. It is important to paint the sheet from the reverse side so that all the veins are visible in the print. White and yellow leaf prints look good on a dark background, while bright and dark ones look good on a light background.
The vase is ready, all that remains is to decorate it with natural materials. We settled on rosehip sprigs and pine cones strung on wire. Leaves can be used fresh or cut from paper. Since the competition is for children, the child cut out and painted the leaves himself. Then we simply glued them to the branch.
