How to make an electric jack from a broken angle grinder and a wiper motor

An ordinary screw jack can be equipped with an electric drive, and it can lift the car with the press of a button. With such equipment, car maintenance will be faster and easier.

Materials:

• old Bulgarian;
  
• sheet steel 5 mm;
  
• gear motor from wipers;
  
• screw jack;
  
• extended nut M15;
  
• extended nut M8.

Electric jack manufacturing process

The gearbox is removed from the old grinder.

Her shaft is trimmed. An adapter is made from an extended M8 nut for the gear motor from the wipers. Holes are simply drilled in it for the key to connect to the shafts.


The essence of the design is to connect the angle grinder shaft with a gear motor, and its spindle with a screw jack. Then, due to the rotation of the electric motor, the jack will quickly rise. To do this, you need to make a frame from 5 mm steel.

It is made H-shaped. Before welding, holes are drilled in the workpieces for the shafts, as well as for fastening the gearboxes. The distance between the sites must be sufficient to install the adapter.





At the top of the frame, another fastening platform with eyes is welded for screwing the jack body. A wide hole is first made in it for inserting the jack screw.


Next you will need to try on the grinder gearbox and jack. An adapter is made to connect them. An extended M14 nut is taken and eyes are welded to it. It will screw onto the spindle of the angle grinder, and its eyes will connect to the jack screw.

The gearboxes are screwed to the frame, then they are connected by an adapter.




Next, the jack is installed.


Power wires with alligator clips to the battery are soldered to the gear motor. You can include a polarity switch in the circuit so that the jack rotates in different directions. If it is not there, then to lower the machine you will need to rearrange the crocodiles.
