How to repair a cordless electric razor or clipper if it won't start
An old electric razor or clipper may have a motor failure. Most often the reason for this is wear on the brushes. Let's look at how it can be repaired at home using scrap materials and ordinary tools.
What you will need:
- copper wire;
- soldering iron;
- screwdriver;
- file;
- hammer.
The process of repairing an electric motor
The body of the machine is disassembled. You need to check the functionality of the button and the power source if it is a battery-powered device. If the problem is really in the motor, you need to dismantle it and remove the plastic back cover.
On the back of the cover there are 2 brushes, which are the cause of the breakdown. They need to be replaced.
For this purpose, new brushes are made. You need to splash the copper wire with a hammer and cut off 2 pieces from it.
They are sanded with a file, then soldered in place of standard brushes. They need to be bent so that when installing the rotor they rub against the commutator.
After this, when power is applied, the electric motor should start.
