Auto life hack: In winter, use the service mode of your wipers
With the onset of winter, drivers are constantly faced with the problem of wipers freezing or slight ice on the blades, causing them to scratch the glass. The situation is unpleasant, but solvable. To avoid having to pour water on your windshield wipers every morning to remove ice, use this tip.
Using the service mode for wipers in winter
Most car models have a service mode. When turned on, the wipers lock vertically and can be replaced without any problems. This option is good to use in winter.
Let's consider its inclusion using the example of Lada Vesta
Turn off the car by turning the key to the center position.
Move the windshield wiper control lever to the down position.
As a result, the wipers will become vertical.
In the future, when you start the engine (and even during autostart), they will remain in this position, so after turning on the glass heating, the brushes will quickly warm up.
You can speed this up further by turning on the heated windshield.
This life hack is applicable not only to the Lada Vesta, but also to most cars, just check with your manufacturer how it turns on.
