How to turn your smartphone into a metal detector
This incredibly simple DIY will help you turn your smartphone into a real metal detector. Today, almost every modern phone has a magnetic field sensor in its arsenal. All that remains is to install the appropriate application on your phone and voila, you have a metal detector. It can be used to search for large and medium-sized metal objects in the ground, used to search for reinforcement in a wall, etc.
Will need
- Round wooden slats.
- A plastic tube, slightly larger in diameter than a wooden slats.
- Two-component adhesive - cold welding.
- Smartphone case.
How to turn your phone into a metal detector with your own hands
We heat the plastic tube towards the center with a hot air gun, putting it on a stick.
Bend at an angle of approximately 35-40 degrees. And we continue to heat one of the sides.
Using any piece of wood, flatten it and wait for it to cool.
This is the rod of the future metal detector.
We clean the glued area on the phone case and the flattened handset.
Mix the glue components.
Glue the tube onto the black.
Glue the case to the holder.
Download any metal detector application from Google Play.
Install and launch.
We install the smartphone in the case and the metal detector is ready for use.
To search, the phone must be constantly in motion. And here is one of the finds.
The metal detector senses it well at a short distance.
Of course, you shouldn’t expect great sensitivity from this device, but it is quite enough to find a lot of scrap metal in the ground.
