How to make a device for melting aluminum on a gas stove
To melt aluminum, the heat produced by a regular kitchen gas stove is sufficient. To do this, you only need a crucible and a screen. All this is done simply from pipe scraps.
A blank 250-300 mm long is cut from a pipe with a diameter of 160-200 mm. Its ends are aligned.
Holes are drilled around the circumference of the workpiece 30 mm from the edge with a 7 mm drill in increments of 30-40 mm.
From the second end of the workpiece, 2 holes are drilled with the same drill. They should be located opposite each other, 30-50 mm from the edge. Cutouts are made along them using a grinder.
Next, the crucible is made. A sheet steel bottom is welded to a section of profile pipe.
The length of the crucible is selected so that when it is placed in a drilled pipe, there is a gap at the bottom for the gas burner. 2 pieces of strip are welded to the crucible. One long one will serve as a handle, and a short one will provide support for the casing cutout.
You also need to make a lid for the crucible with a wooden handle.
Next, the perforated pipe is installed on the lit gas stove.
If necessary, the burner can be raised by placing a sleeve. Next, the crucible itself is installed and covered with a lid.
To speed up the melting, a thin steel tube with a compressor connected can be inserted into one of the lower holes of the casing.
With blowing, the metal will melt a couple of times faster.
