Life hack for motorists: Shaving foam will eliminate fogging of windows

Moisture in the car interior, settling on the glass, impairs visibility and spoils the mood. In order not to buy expensive anti-fog agents, we will prepare it ourselves, quickly, simply and practically free of charge.

You will need:

• shaving foam or gel;
  
• paper towel or napkins;
  
• electrical tape or colored tape;
  
• thermos with hot water.

Preparation process and testing

First, glue electrical tape vertically onto the glass. We will treat part of the glazing on one side of it with a homemade anti-fog agent, but not the other.

Apply a little foam or gel to a paper towel and distribute the product more or less evenly over the glass.


We notice that stains and streaks remained on the treated part of the glass, which led to its cloudiness.
Using another clean paper towel, wipe the gel- or foam-coated part of the glass until it becomes clear, like the untreated half.
Let's evaluate the quality of moisture protection of our homemade anti-fog.To do this, pour hot water into the lid of the thermos and place it at the base of the glass opposite the electrical tape.

After some time, we notice that the untreated part of the glazing has fogged up, but the part protected with gel or shaving foam has not.
This life hack is familiar to many motorists. Its secret is simple: foam removes the surface tension of water and it does not condense on the glass in the form of droplets, but covers the surface with a continuous layer.
