How to bypass a pipe with laminate unnoticed
When laying laminate flooring, a situation may arise when a vertical water supply, heating, or gas pipe interferes with the wall. This is one of the most difficult areas, but it can be laid beautifully. Bypassing the pipe is easy, although it does require time.
What you will need:
- drill;
- the wood crown is 10 mm larger than the diameter of the pipe;
- miter saw or jigsaw;
- square;
- pencil.
The process of lining a pipe with laminate
The first step is to cut out a laminate sheet of the required size. Then, using a square and a pencil, you need to mark the center of the pipe on it. A hole is drilled at the marks using a crown.
Then you need to cut a strip from it to the edge of the die. After this, the laminate with the cutout is laid in place.
Now you need to close the remaining gap. If you put a previously cut strip, it will turn out to be narrow, since part of the width was taken by the saw blade when cutting. In this regard, you need to make another insert.
To do this, a hole is drilled in the unnecessary laminate trim with the same crown to form the same roundness.Then the required insert is drawn from it. When cutting, it is important that the edge of the saw blade follows the marked line, and not the center. The resulting workpiece is, if necessary, modified with a file and inserted into the cutout.
The insert can be made so dense that the joint lines will be completely invisible. All that remains is to install the plug for the pipe and proceed to installing the baseboards.
