How to make a simple fruit picker from high branches from a PET bottle
If you want your fruits to be stored for as long as possible, then you need to pick them especially carefully so as not to damage the skin or drop the fruit. This simple plastic bottle picker, which can be assembled in 5 minutes “on your knee,” will help you carefully collect fruits from the upper branches.
This device is perfect for picking large fruits such as apples, pears and also smaller ones such as plums, peaches and even cherries.
Will need
- PET bottle. Choose its size depending on the size of the fruits you will be collecting.
- Long rail. A mop handle, etc. would work well.
Making a Simple Fruit Picker
We take the bottle and peel off all the labels. Next, using a marker, draw a window with triangles at the top of the bottom. This triangle will help to pick the fruit from the tree.
We cut out this window using a stationery knife. Next, take a wooden handle from a mop or other tool and drill a through hole at the end.
We drill the same hole in the neck of the bottle.
We put the bottle on the handle. We insert the wire into the hole and bend it.Now the bottle is not going anywhere.
You can, of course, use a self-tapping screw for fastening. This completes the simplest fruit picker.
We approach the tree and collect the fruits.
We place the fruit inside the window of the bottle and gently pull it.
It breaks off and falls to the bottom of the collector. This way you can collect several fruits and only then empty the container of the device.
